DRUGS, CASH SEIZED IN SOUTH PINE BLUFF TUESDAY

By Ray King/OF THE COMMERCIAL STAFF

Large quantities of cocaine and marijuana, along with more than $6,000 in cash were seized and two men arrested Tuesday afternoon after a drug related search warrant was served in the southern part of Pine Bluff.

Jefferson County Sheriff Gerald Robinson said Marcus Dorn, 28, and Donyada Collins, 29, both of Pine Bluff will be held on probable cause of possession of cocaine with intent to deliver, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Dorn was also held for resisting arrest, and investigators said they had to use a Tazer to subdue him when he would not submit.

Robinson said agents of the Tri-County Drug Task Force and Pine Bluff Police Vice and Narcotics officers served the warrant at 7300 Rosswood Road, following a lengthy investigation into the alleged sale of controlled substances at the house.

Robinson said investigators seized approximately 13.6 grams of cocaine with an estimated street value of approximately $40,000; along with approximately five pounds of marijuana with an estimated street value of about $6,000, along with cash, one vehicle, and drug paraphernalia including scales and plastic bags.

“We’re going to continue working diligently to try and rid this county of drug trafficking and drug dealers, and this investigation may lead to more arrests,” Robinson said.

Dorn and Collins, who were at the house when the warrant was served, were arrested and taken to the county detention center where they will be held on probable cause of drug related offenses, pending an expected court appearance today, and the filing of formal charges by the prosecuting attorney’s office.

“I’m really proud of the work the task force and the police vice and narcotics officers are doing, not just here in Jefferson County, but in Lincoln and Arkansas Counties (which are also part of the Tri-County Drug Task Force area),” Robinson said. “They’ve all been working together for one purpose, and that’s to make our streets and communities safer, and drug free.”
