LITTLE ROCK — Vernett Burks, 86, of Little Rock died Oct. 22 at Baptist Health Medical Center.

She was born April 5, 1923, at Dermott, a daughter of the late Henry Jones and Lizzie Dunn.

Survivors: Sons, Elvin Burks Jr., Chester Burks, Jimmy Burks and Ernest Burks; daughters, Deloris Franklin, Linda Armstrong, Velma K’Nuckles and Darlene Little; brother, Earnest Jones; 40 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services: 11 a.m. today at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church at Dermott with Stephen W. Christian officiating. Burial: Davis Cemetery at Dermott by Davis Strickland Funeral Home at Dermott.
