LITTLE ROCK — Fire of undetermined origin destroyed a two-story brick building housing Television Station KATV early today and the loss was estimated at $400,000.
Asst. Mgr. Oscar Algood, who made the estimate, said the station would remain on the air through its Pine Bluff studios and would carry the same programs.
Scheduled to return home today from Dallas, Tex., were Mrs. Jean Bell and Mrs. Mae Howell, who attended the fashion market showings.
Among the students of the speech department of Ole Miss taking part in a school production of “The Tender Trap,” is Sam Puddephatt of Pine Bluff.
Mrs. Bennie Ridgway, secretary of the Jefferson County Home Demonstration Council, recently presented a candy dish and orchid to Mrs. Novelle Clark, county agent, in appreciation of her work.
Mrs. Arthur Royston, retiring president, received a crystal epergne dish.
