Heavy rains that passed over Southeast Arkansas Thursday night caused two games in the area to be postponed until Monday.
Dollarway’s 8-4A Conference game at Lake Village, originally set for 7 p.m. last night, was moved to 7 p.m. Monday at Lake Village’s Beaver Stadium.
Also, Woodlawn’s 8-2A Conference game against Smackover at home was also moved. The Bears will instead host the Buckaroos at 7 p.m. Monday.
The stakes in Woodlawn’s game are high, as a win over Smackover (4-4, 3-3) will assure it of a No. 3 seed in the Class 2A state playoffs that brings with it a home playoff game.
Woodlawn (5-3, 4-2) beat Smackover 33-7 last season and is coming off a 46-8 loss at Bearden last week. Smackover has won its last two games, a 45-26 win over Hermitage last week and a 33-20 victory over Hampton Oct. 16.
Dollarway’s game will decide which team finishes at the bottom of the 8-4A. The Cardinals are still searching for their first win of the season and the Beavers (2-5, 0-5) have lost five straight games.
Dollarway (0-7, 0-5) beat Lake Village 34-24 last season, a win that was later forfeited for the use of an ineligible player.
