The DuBocage Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association held their annual Christmas party recently at Glenda Dean’s home in White Hall. “Dean had her home beautifully decorated for Christmas with the crowning glory of a 12-foot tall Christmas tree as you entered her home,” a news release from the organization said.

A voluntary collection was taken up for Neighbor-to-Neighbor, and with what the chapter members had voted to give from the chapter’s funds and the donations at the party, a total of $500.00 was given, the news release said.

“After delicious Mexican meal of frittatas, refried beans, cheese dip and assorted Christmas cookies for dessert, everyone got to vote on in an ugly sweater contest. Allison Yaney won the ugly sweater contest with her sun-glassed reindeer and tinsel down both arms and bells around the bottom,” according to the news release.

Games were played by dividing up into three teams, with prizes given to the winning team. During one game, team members had to wear gloves and unwrap a saran wrapped ball until finding the end of the wrap. After one team member found the end of a sheet of wrap, the gloves and ball were passed to the next person for them to do the same. The team to unwrap the whole ball won.

The next game was for the team members to hold a candy cane in their mouth and try to pick up three candy canes from a plate of canes and move them to an empty plate. Again the team that had all the members moving three candy canes to the other plate first won.

“All in all the party was full of laughter and good cheer,” the news release said. “Presents were exchanged in a game of Dirty Santa. All the presents were of a Christmas theme such as platters with reindeer painted on, ornaments, cookie jars, or cake plates.”
