DENVER — The University of Denver men’s basketball team used an all-around effort on Monday to take down Arkansas-Pine Bluff 74-52 at Magness Arena.

The victory pushed the Pioneer winning streak to four, their longest since early in the 2015-16 season. DU was led by Thomas Neff, who scored a season-high 18, highlighted by a career-high six made 3s in the game. Daniel Amigo returned to form, finishing with a gamehigh 19 points while pulling down eight rebounds.

The Golden Lions were led by Ghiavonni Robinson’s 12 points. Denver came out firing behind Neff, racing out to an 18-4 lead within five minutes of the opening tip. An 11-5 run by Arkansas-Pine Bluff cut the Pioneer advantage to five with 7:46 remaining, utilizing the perimeter while forcing DU into being careless with the ball on offense.

Denver rebounded and closed with its own 14-6 run over the final 6:30 to push the lead back to double digits at the half. The key in the opener was the Pioneers’ versatility on the offensive end, as seven players scored in the period. DU also locked down the Golden Lions, holding them to eight made field goals.

The second half saw Denver sprinting out of the gate, building its lead back up to 18 within the first 2:30. The Pioneer attack was the result of good outside shooting and a solid defense. The lead grew to 19 after six straight points by Amigo, giving the junior big man 12 on the evening. DU never let UAPB get any closer, cruising to the victory.
