Katherine Reynolds, licensed master social worker, and Susan McCurdy, RN/facility manager from Fresenius Medical Care, received donations from Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated Delta Omega Omega Chapter members for the holidays.
The Seasonal Wraps Program is one of the chapter’s target initiatives to collect and donate hats, gloves, socks, scarves, coats, sweaters, sunscreen, sunhats, ponchos, rain apparel and other seasonal wraps for those in need.
Delta Omega Omega President Toni McCastle said that one of the reasons the chapter was eager to assist Fresenius Medical Care was because, “The dialysis centers are typically cold. We wanted to help the patients stay as comfortable as possible. The socks, mittens, scarves and winter hats are just a token of love and service from our sorority.”
According to Reynolds, they are truly appreciative for the donations, which will enable their patients who have to attend outpatient dialysis to stay warm as they endure treatment.
Program Chairman and Delta Omega Omega Vice President Damiccah Robertson said,“We were glad to know that our donations will help the dialysis patients and look forward to continuing our Seasonal Wraps program to help protect Pine Bluff residents from the elements.”
