Roy Jackson Murdock, 76, of Pine Bluff, died Sunday December 25, 2016.

Born March 4, 1940 at Grapevine, he was the son of the late Creed E. Murdock and Lola Marie Funderburg Murdock.

Mr. Murdock graduated from Monticello A & M and again from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville with a Master’s in Business administration before becoming an officer in the United States Navy.

He was the Owner & Operator of Murdock Insurance Company for several years, and was still active in the business well into his “Retirement”.

Mr. Murdock was a member of the American Legion, the National Rifle Association, and the “East Harding Avenue McDonald’s Coffee Click”. He Enjoyed watching classic movies and spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Alvie Murdock, and an infant sister, Margaret.

Roy is survived by the mother of his children and good friend, June Parker Murdock; son, Roy Murdock, Jr. and wife Mollie; daughter, June Marie Daniels and husband Robert; granddaughters, Caitlyn, Emily and Rachel; and many other loving family and friends.

A Memorial Gathering will be Monday, January 2nd, 10 a.m. at Fuller Hale~South Funeral Chapel, followed by interment in Lee Cemetery.
