Committees of the Jefferson County Quorum Court will meet at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Jefferson County Courthouse.
According to a copy of the agenda the Commercial received Saturday, the Public Safety Committee is set to discuss the creation of a compliance officer position within the county.
The Finance Committee is set to discuss a proposed ordinance to compensate former employees for vacation, compensatory time and any other applicable or qualifying time accrued time by liquidating it into a lump sum payment in accordance with a Jefferson County ordinance adopted in 1995, and the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act.
Also on the agenda is a proposed ordinance concerning an annual Waste Management sanitation rate increase in the county; a proposed ordinance reauthorizing the Community Service Director/Detention Center Liaison Grant Funded position at $18,000 per year from the Juvenile Court Fund; and an ordinance to approve the Fines and Truancy Grant budget for 2017, including the transfer of $6,496 from the Circuit Court Juvenile Division Fund for FICA and retirement.
Another proposed ordinance would require county employees to comply with a direct deposit mandate.
Also Tuesday, there will be a second orientation session of new members of the county's legislative body that will begin at 5 p.m.
