A Pine Bluff woman is among eight students at Henderson State University at Arkadelphia who vie for the title of Miss HSU 2017.


Cinnamon Maxwell is a sophomore social science education major from Pine Bluff.


The pageant will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, in Arkansas Hall at HSU. The contest will feature swimsuit, evening gown, and talent competitions, and is a preliminary event for the Miss Arkansas Pageant.


In addition to Maxwell, the 2017 contestants are Jeana Lovett, a freshman pre-med biology major from Waldron; Parker Hutson, a junior mass media major from Hot Springs; Adrienne Prince, a sophomore accounting major from Glen Rose; Skyla Weeks, a sophomore psychology major from Highland; Olivia Moore, a sophomore biology major from Gurdon; Ashley Marx, a junior English major from Texarkana; and Arielle Michael, a junior pre-pharmacy major from Bismarck.


Former Miss HSU Brittney Humphrey will serve as host. Admission is free and open to the public.
