Churches in the Consolidated St. Marion Baptist District Association will celebrate National Go Red Day Sunday, Feb. 12, throughout the district.

“Health coordinators Annie M. Davis and Brenda Brown want to help dispel the myths and heighten awareness of heart diseases and stroke as the number one killer of women, according to the American Heart Association,” a spokesman said.

On Sunday, all women in the district are encouraged to wear red and men are asked to wear red ties.

“We hope all churches in Pine Bluff and Jefferson County will join with us as we vividly empower women to take charge of their heart health,” a spokesman said. “Each church will take selfies or group pictures to be shared on the district, state and national websites.”

Participating churches should text pictures to 870-718-6041 or email REJIACJASHLEY@SBCGLOBAL.NET.

The Rev. Larry C. Battles is the moderator and the Rev. Aaron Barnes is vice moderator for the Consolidated St. Marion Baptist District Association.
