Camden Road Extension Homemakers Club recently heard a presentation by Nancy Sumner on Small Power Tools for Seniors from a Woman’s Perspective.

President Jo Segars opened the February meeting and welcomed all members. The thought for the day was “A toothbrush works great to clean lemon rind, cheese, onion, etc. out of the grater before washing it.”

The homemakers creed was given by Sumner, vice president. The Handy hint was, “If a task is once begun do it well or not at all.”

The inspiration was given by Wanda Felts. The roll call was answered to the question: “Have you ever used a power tool?” The treasurer’s report was given by Esta Kealer.

Other items discussed were the Relay for Life chili supper fundraiser. Dorothy Green, Vicky Inich, Nancy Sumner and Jo Segars made 24 packages of cookies for the event. Wanda Felts sold bags of pecans for the county project.

Upcoming events include a workshop to be held at Ferndale and a fellowship tour to Garvan Gardens March 24.

The Camden Road club will be taking dolls to Arkansas Children’s Hospital March 30. Kids Fest is April 21-22. Jefferson County Spring Council is May 2. Personal items for CASA were collected and delivered.

Hostesses for the meeting were Jo Segars and Nancy Sumner.
