Anniversaries


Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church at Tucker will observe the third anniversary of the pastor, the Rev. Robin Stepps, and her husband, Michael Stepps, a deacon. At 3 p.m., Saturday, March 18, there will be a celebration dinner for the honorees at the church’s fellowship hall. At 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 19, the guest speaker will be Superintendent Joe L. Stocker, pastor of Main Street Church Church of God in Christ at Pine Bluff.


Highland Baptist Church, 1320 S. Peach St., will present the 14th anniversary of the pastor/apostle, Christopher Mack, and wife, Shameka Mack. At 7 p.m. Saturday, March 18, a Night of Elegance will be held at the Armed Forces Reserve Center at White Hall. The attire is formal. Royce Jackson Jr., pastor-elect of New Jerusalem Baptist Church at Dumas. At 3 p.m., the guest speaker will be the Rev. Eric Alexander, pastor of St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church at North Little Rock.


The Church of the Living God, 3120 Gravel Pit Road, will host the 10th annual celebration of the associate pastor and wife, Elder Kenneth and Kymberly Edwards, at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 19. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Jesse Jackson, pastor of Rose Hill Baptist Church at Meroney.


Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church in the Noble Lake Community will celebrate the 22nd pastoral anniversary of the Rev. and Mrs. George Toney III at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 19. The guest speaker will be the Rev. George Glass Jr., pastor of Greater Word of Life Ministries at Bastrop, Louisiana.


Greater Faith Ministries Church at Altheimer will host its second anniversary at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 19. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Larry Lattimore, pastor of Tabernacle Baptist Church at Dermott, accompanied by his congregation. Mandi Heard will sing and Ryan Harris will play the saxophone.


Jerusalem No. 1 Missionary Baptist Church at Altheimer will host an appreciation program for Elder Lorine Kelley at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 19. The guest speaker will be the Rev. John Shelton.


Concerts/Musicals


Mt. Zion Baptist Church at Altheimer will host a musical Appreciation of Love program honoring Saul Lusk Sr., a deacon, and Brenda Lusk, at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 19. New Morning Star Baptist Church at Altheimer and the Southeast Arkansas Community Mass Choir are sponsoring the program and music will be provided by singers from the surrounding communities.


Almeta Missionary Baptist Church at Reedville will host its annual choir day at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, March 19. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Johnnie B. Handley, pastor of Seven Star Missionary Baptist Church at Tillar, accompanied by the ushers.


First Missionary Baptist Church, 4500 Faucett Road, will present its annual choir program at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 19. The guest speaker will be Chester Thompson, bishop of Zion Hill Baptist Church at Camden.


Greater First Missionary Baptist Church, 507 W. Sixth Ave., will host its choir annual at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 19. The featured speaker will be the Rev. Darren Edgerson of St. Peter’s Rock Missionary Baptist Church.


Southside Singing Center, 5420 W. 15th Ave., will host a quartet musical at 7 p.m. Sunday, March 19. Groups will include the Sensational Soul Revivals, Mighty Gospelettes, Gloriettes, Shining Stars and White Family Christland/Faith of Harmony.


Men’s/Women’s events


New Faith Missionary Baptist Church, 3800 Fir St., will hold its annual men’s day service at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 19. The Rev Kevin L. Crumpton Sr., pastor of Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church, will be the guest preacher, accompanied by the Pilgrim Male Chorus. The G.R.O.S. Male Chorus of Greater Rose of Sharon Church at Little Rock will sing.


New Hope CME Church, 901 E. 21st Ave., will hold its annual men’s day service at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 19. The featured speaker will be Pine Bluff resident, Judge Waymond Brown of the Arkansas Court of Appeals. Men in Black will sing.


Union Missionary Baptist Church, 2911 U.S. 63 North, will host the annual mission program of the Central District Woman’s Auxiliary at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 18. Women are asked to wear white.


New Town Missionary Baptist Church, 3600 W. Second Ave., will host its annual men’s/women’s day Sunday, March 19. At 11 a.m., the guest speaker will be the Rev. Leroy Edwards Jr., associate minister of Mount Harmony Baptist Church at Pine Bluff. At 3 p.m., the featured speaker will be the Rev. Aaron Johnson, pastor of Liberty Hill Missionary Baptist Church.


Revivals


Rock of Faith Deliverance Church, 1717 S. Main St., will have a deliverance revival at 6 p.m. Sunday, March 19. The speaker will be the apostle, Rufus Dennis, of Rock of Faith Covenant of Churches and Ministries.


Evangelist Outreach Church and Ministries, 620 L.A. “Prexy” Davis Drive, will host revival at 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, March 20-22. The guest speaker will be Norman Armstrong, an apostle.


Special events


Greater Deliverance Global Ministry, 2215 E. Harding Ave., and the pastor/bishop, Shirley Sanders, will present the 2017 leadership conference at 7 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, March 21-23. Guest speakers will be Willie Edwards, pastor of International House of Praise at Pine Bluff, Patrick Lockett, pastor/apostle of New Community Church at Pine Bluff, and Chester Thompson, bishop of Zion Hill Baptist Church at Camden.


Pine Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 2101 W. Reeker St., will host a banquet honoring the Rev. George H. Barnes Sr., pastor of Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, on his 50th anniversary of preaching and teaching. The event will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, June 30, in the fellowship hall of Pine Hill.
