Crime prevention will be the topic of a block party from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 25, on Main Street at Gould. Youth will also meet McGruff the Crime Dog and the event will include music and refreshments.
The Gould Organizing Project block party is a building block to creating and implementing crime prevention initiatives on how every citizen can engage in crime prevention, a spokesman said.
The Gould Citywide Neighborhood Watch Association will partner with community leaders and residents to sponsor the event.
The block party will promote community safety and awareness. Experts will discuss effective crime prevention strategies that will assist residents with information and technical assistance in reducing crime in their neighborhoods.
