Recent acts of violence in Pine Bluff prompted a youth group to form a peace rally at noon Saturday, April 15, on the steps of the Jefferson County Courthouse, according to a spokesman.
The youth department of Pleasant View Ministries Church will present the peace rally. The event will include the Rev. Joshua Crater, a pastor and Jefferson County Judge Henry “Hank” Wilkins IV, the Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church Youth Department and others.
“The rally comes on the heels of recent acts of violence in Pine Bluff that has resulted in the loss of young lives,” Kim Jones Sneed, a minister at Pleasant View and founder/publisher of Stuff In The Bluff. “Some of our young people knew the victims and were very upset by the murders. They made a decision to do something about it.”
“Participants are encouraged to come out and show off their positive posters and shirts to take the city back.”
