The annual Spring Cultural Fest will be held from 6-8:45 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff.
The event will be held in the Adair-Greenhouse Human Sciences Hall auditorium and will feature food and fashion from different cultures, live music and dance.
Janette R. Wheat, associate professor for the Department of Human Sciences at UAPB, and her Families Across Cultures class, will host the event.
This year’s festival theme is “Celebrating a World of Diversity: An International House of Flavors.” Attendees are encouraged to bring a food dish to contribute to the free, potluck-style dinner.
“The purpose of the cultural festival is to promote unity, demonstrate an appreciation and tolerance for a diversity of cultures and showcase an array of international cuisines, fashions, arts, music, mores, traditions and customs of multi-ethnic families’ way of life within a global society,” Wheat said in a news release.
Wheat has hosted the annual cultural festival since April 2006. Details: Wheat, firstname.lastname@example.org or 870-575-8808.
