The second meeting between the White Hall Bulldogs (15-6, 5-3) and Watson Chapel Wildcats (11-7, 5-2) will be for the top spot in the district. The Wildcats and Bulldogs are set for a 4:30 p.m. start today on the campus of Watson Chapel High School.

Watson Chapel was unbeaten in district play until they dropped two against Sheridan last Thursday. Both games against Sheridan were low scoring defensive battles, but according to Wildcat head coach Chad Cope, they just couldn't hit the ball.

"We didn't hit the ball like we know how too against Sheridan," Cope said. "They're deservingly ranked number one in 6A, and we had our chances. I got to find a way to get our guys going at the plate, that's on me, and we're hoping to bounce back."

On the other hand, White Hall is riding a six-game winning streak, which is the longest of their season. Last Thursday, the Bulldogs swept Benton in a double header by final scores of 10-9 and 10-3.

The Wildcats were all over the Bulldogs in their previous match up on March 28 to take a 6-0 win. White Hall faced Chapel's Kaleb Hill, and he had his way on the mound. Now the Wildcats have a chance to pick up a season sweep over their crosstown rivals.

"Hill threw a big game against them last time," Cope said. "We hit the ball and got a few breaks. That was a couple weeks ago, and now White Hall is a hot team. That's the thing about baseball you dont have to wait to long to get another chance."

White Hall believes that they are a better team than they were on that day, and they'll look to prove it on the field.
