The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Music Department will present its annual Spring Concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 20, in the Hathaway-Howard Fine Arts Auditorium. The UAPB Wind Symphony and UAPB Concert band will perform.
The public is invited to attend and admission is free.
The concert band will perform works by David R. Holsinger, Fred Ackey, and John Phillip Sousa. The wind symphony will perform the works of Morton Gould, Paul Hindemith, Joseph Haydn, and Shawn E. Okpebholo.
The wind symphony will also have as a guest conductor W. Dale Warren, the director of the University of Arkansas Wind Symphony and the U of A Razorback marching band.
The wind symphony at UAPB is under the direction of John R. Graham. Graham received his undergraduate degree in music education and his master’s degree in music education, both from the University of Central Arkansas.
The concert band is under the dual direction of Harold J. Fooster Jr. and Darryl Evans.
Fooster received his Bachelor of Music Education degree from Henderson State University and a Master of Music Education degree from the University of North Texas.
Evans received his Bachelor of Science Degree in music education from Grambling State University at Louisiana and his Master of Music Degree from Northwestern State University at Louisiana.
