The Pine Bluff Commercial has received several awards from the 2016 Associated Press Managing Editor’s Contest. In the news feature category, reporter Knowles Adkisson won a first place award. Adkisson also won a first place award in the sports feature category. Managing Editor John Worthen received a first place award for the newspaper’s digital content, and reporter Ray King received a third place award for news coverage. Worthen said he is proud of his staff.
“We have been working diligently to bring our readers the best possible product each day, both online and in print. We appreciate the Associated Press for recognizing our work with these prestigious awards,” Worthen said. “I have an outstanding staff, and I congratulate them on their hard work, dedication and recognition.”
This is the first time in several years that the Commercial has participated in the APME contest.
“We are looking forward to many years filled with quality coverage and, hopefully, even more awards for our publication,” Worthen said. “I would like to thank our Group Publisher, Ed Graves, for his dedication to excellence. We are a team at the Commercial.”
