In honor of Cleashindra Hall, who has been missing for 23 years, her parents will host the third annual Evening of Elegance Benefiting the Cleashindra Hall Scholarship Fund. The gala will be held at 7 p.m. May 13 at the Harbor Oaks restaurant in Regional Park.

“On May 9, 2017, Cleashindra Hall, the only daughter of Willie and Laurell Hall, will have been missing 23 years,” her mother, Laurell Hall, said in a news release.

Cleashindra Hall, 18, was driven to an after-school job in Pine Bluff by her mother on May 9, 1994.

“Clea planned to call her mother when it was time to be picked up. Her mother fell asleep, the phone never rang. Cleashindra Hall vanished,” according to the release.

The family will never give up hope and continues to search for their daughter, they said. The Halls began the scholarship fund to help others who wanted to go into the medical field as their daughter had hoped to do.

“It was Clea’s desire to be a pediatrician and the family wants to realize that dream in someone else,” according to the release.

All proceeds from the benefit gala will go to provide scholarships for high school students in Jefferson County who plan to pursue careers in nursing or medical professions and who meet the criteria.

“Over the years, people have said to me, ‘If I can do anything, let me know.’ Our family has been let down more times than I want to mention or think about,” Laurell Hall said.

“So far, our prayers have not manifested into her return or someone breaking their silence and giving up a shred of information. So, until God makes it happen, we have to continue to keep her name out before the community. And not just keep her name out there, but help someone else in the process,” she said, explaining that the benefit is a chance for people to help the Halls be a blessing to others.

The benefit gala will feature music, food, fellowship as well as a silent auction. Tickets are $30. To purchase or reserve tickets, contact Laurell Hall at 870-413-1660 or on Facebook at Laurell Williams Hall.
