Pine Bluff School District will host a press conference to discuss a new program, Project Lead the Way. The meeting will be held at 5 p.m., Thursday, May 11, at the board room of the administrative center, 512 S. Pine St.


“Project Lead the Way (PLTW) is a nonprofit organization that provides a transformative learning experience for K-12 students and teachers across the U.S.,” a spokesman said in a news release.


PLTW programs will be located at Broadmoor Elementary School, Jack Robey Junior High School and the 9th Grade Academy at Pine Bluff High School.


“Students will engage in PLTW modules preparing them for career and college readiness across STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) disciplines. Students will be engaged in coding, robotics, engineering, computer science and more,” the spokesman said.
