DERMOTT — The fifth annual Dermott Community Fest will open with a gospel hour at 11 a.m. Friday and Saturday, May 19-20.

The festival opens at 8 a.m. in downtown Dermott and admission is free, according to a website.

The theme will be Boots and Buckles and participants are urged to wear boots, buckles and hats, a spokesman said in a news release.

Special musical guests will be William Staggers and Treo from Little Rock, who will perform from 8 p.m. Saturday to midnight. The Cummins Prison Band will perform from noon to 3 p.m. Friday and from 3-7 p.m. Saturday. A special appearance will be by Dancing Starz from St. Louis, Missouri.

T-shirts and crawfish dinners will be sold and vendors will be open. T-shirts are available at the Simmons Bank at Dermott and First Service Bank at Dermott, the spokesman said.
