James Cook III:

James D. Cook III, 55, of Wilmar was born Monday, December 11, 1961 in Grady, Ark. to James D. Cook Sr. and the late Elfannia Daniel Cook. He peacefully entered into God's eternal rest on Monday, May 15, 2017.

His greatest love, aside Jesus Christ, was the love of his fiance', Debra Block; son, Jeremy Brown, and grandson, Jeremy Brown, Jr.

He also leaves to cherish his memories: his father, James D. Cook, Sr. of Grady; four brothers- Clyde Daniel (Sonja) of Grady, Calvin Bruce Cook of Hampton, Robert Skinner of Houston, Texas, and Big Brother Sie Moore (Evelyn) of Little Rock; seven sisters- Rosie Cook of Little Rock, Catherlean Wright (Brad) of Centerville, Md., Jetton Cole (Samuel) of Jackson, Miss., Latoniah Harris (Chauncey) of N.C., Elizabeth Hegwood (Vernell), Leslie Tosca (Danny), and Vivian K. Butler (Bobby) all of Pine Bluff; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Friday, May 19, 2017, from 5-7 pm at Perry Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Saturday, May 30, 2017 at 11 am at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Grady with Reverend Bobby Butler officiating. Interment will be at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Grady. Sondra Goodson:

WHITE HALL - Sondra Jester Goodson, 76, of White Hall, died Wednesday, May 17, 2017.

She was born February 16, 1941 in Ashdown, Ark., daughter of Joseph and Marguerite Bass Jester.

As a military child, Sondra lived many places as a child. She graduated from high school in Killeen, Texas and attended the University of Texas.

She worked for UAMS for over 25 years, retiring as a buyer in 2004.

Mrs. Goodson enjoyed fishing, bowling and playing the harmonica. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her daughter, Tracey Powell (Joe) of Pine Bluff; son, Todd Goodson of White Hall; two grandchildren, Madison and Jay Dempsey; and an “honorary” son, Richard Johnson (Lisa).

A memorial service will be 10 a.m., Saturday, May 20, 2017 in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with Reverend Todd Howard officiating. Visitation will be Saturday morning from 9 a.m. until service time at Robinson’s.

Georgia Jenkins:

WHITE HALL - Georgia Lou Jenkins, 83, of White Hall, passed away on May 18, 2017, at home surrounded by her family.

Born April 11, 1934 in Rison, she was a daughter to the late William “Bill” Bethea and Sudie White Bethea.

She was reared and received her education at Rison High School, and went on to receive a Bachelor’s degree in nursing from University of Arkansas at Monticello. Georgia worked as an RN at Jefferson Regional Medical Center until her retirement in 2000.

Georgia attended Olive Branch Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed camping, traveling and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bud Jenkins; son, Jeff Reed; sisters, Maureen Green, Louise Rhodes, and Patsy Sandine; brothers, Bill Bethea and Jack Bethea; and her first husband and father to her children, Johnnie C. Reed.

Mrs. Jenkins is survived by her daughters; Debra Waits (Carl) of White Hall, Gail Heroman of Frisco, Texas, and Melanie Reed of Waterloo, Ill.; four grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will be at the home of Mrs. Debra Waits.

Services will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Cranford Funeral Home with Dr. Roger Stewart officiating. Visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m.

Dora Lee Eason, 60, passed May 14, 2017 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. Born July 11, 1956 in Pine Bluff to the late Eddie C. Ricks, Sr. and Queen Ester Biley.

Marcella Barnes:

Marcella Barnes 60, of Pine Bluff was born on April 5, 1957 in Altheimer, Ark. to Nora Ester and Marcella Jones. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior at an early age under the leadership of Pastor Jackson at New Morning Star Missionary Church in Cornerstone, Ark.

She later united with the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Cornerstone, Ark. under the leadership of Pastor Robert Willis and later Pastor Charles Helloms, Sr. After uniting in marriage to Pastor Aaron E. Barnes, Sr., Marcella joined Mulberry Grove Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Frank Shelton, Sr., and later the current pastor Dr. Robert A. Anderson, Sr.

After her husband accepted the call to preach and then pastor, Marcella became a member of the New Home Missionary Baptist Church in Pine Bluff, Ark. She was faithful as a wife and serving untiringly as First Lady of New Home Missionary Baptist Church. Serving and helping others was her passion.

Marcella leaves to cherish her memory, a devoted husband, Pastor Aaron E. Barnes, Sr.; daughters, Sherita Thomas and April (Shawn) Davis both of Pine Bluff, Ark.; sons, Jevon Barnes and Joshua Thomas both of Pine Bluff, Ark.; Willie Thomas, Jr. of Conway, Ark.; Myron (Candace) Barnes, Sr. of Austin, Texas; Aaron (Veronique) Barnes, Jr. of San Antonio, Texas; a nephew whom she loved as a son, Dennis (Lashawn) Qualls of Chicago, Ill.; sisters, Ruth (Henry) Williams of Flint, Mich.; Ocie (Jeff) Lockwood of Scott, Ark.; Maxine (Dewayne) Rochell of Hensley, Ark.; brothers, N.E.
