The Jefferson County Extension Homemakers voted to collect non-perishable food items for three local food pantries for their 2016-2017 community service project.

The five clubs contributed more than 1,500 non-perishable food items to Neighbor-to-Neighbor, the White Hall Food Pantry and the Centennial Fellowship Church Transformation Project.

All club members were encouraged to bring three food items to their council meetings. The food was transported to these pantries after the Jefferson County Extension Homemakers Council Meetings to be distributed to qualified individuals. Also, several club members helped with the food distribution.

The Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service offers its programs to all eligible persons without discrimination.
