The Tau Sigma undergraduate chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. closed out the school year at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff with an introduction of new chapter members at UAPB. Admission to the event was reduced for anyone who brought a nonperishable food item.
The chapter collected eight large boxes of canned food. They gave three boxes of canned goods to the CASA Women’s Shelter and five boxes to Neighbor to Neighbor.
Chapter members also participated in a day of cleanup in Pine Bluff and supported the Jefferson County Relay For Life at Seabrook. Relay For Life is a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. During the event, Tau Sigma members gave a cash donation, performed a step show as entertainment and helped vendors with clean up.
Omega Psi Phi is an international fraternity with more than 750 undergraduate and graduate chapters. The Tau Sigma Chapter was chartered at Arkansas AM&N College, now known as UAPB in 1945. Jaylan Haskin is the current chapter president.
