Retired Arkansas State Police Capt. Lloyd Franklin has been allotted five scholarships for boys in Jefferson County to attend the 17th annual Summer Boys Camp hosted by the Louis Bryant Chapter of the National Black State Troopers Coalition.

The camp will be conducted from July 16 to 21 at the Arkansas 4-H Center at Four-H Way in Little Rock.

“The camp’s mission is to improve the citizenship, leadership, integrity and life experiences of young men between the ages of 10 and 12,” a spokesperson for the camp said. “We accomplish this mission through activities such as archery, fishing, rock climbing, hiking, college campus visits and other character building activities.”

Franklin can be contacted at 870-692-5206 or franklinaspi@yahoo.com.
