Clotel McBride:

The second oldest of 13 children, Clotel McBride was born in Bonita, Louisiana on August 2, 1926, to the union of Simon Lambert and Harriet Brown.

She married Frank McBride, and remained a faithful wife to him for 69 years until his passing in 2008. Mrs. McBride joined her husband, Frank, on June 26, 2017.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Faith In Action Church. Entombment will be in Cypress Memorial Cemetery by the P.K. Miller Mortuary. Visitation will be heldSaturday morning at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

Harry Moak:

Harry Dean Moak, 82, of White Hall, passed away Monday, July 3, 2017, at the Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock.

Mr. Moak was born July 26, 1934, in Lincoln County, Mississippi, a son of the late Charlie and Lillar Gatlin Moak. He was reared and received his education in Lincoln County, Mississippi, where he graduated from Johnson Station High School in 1955. He joined the United States Air Force in 1955 and served his country until July 1960.

He married Shirley Grace on May 15, 1957, in McComb, Mississippi. They moved to Jefferson County in 1960.

Mr. Moak went to work for International Paper Company (currently Evergreen Paper Company) in 1960, where he worked as a paper machine operator.

He is survived by his two sons, Mark and Marvin Moak, both of White Hall; daughter, Donna Mercer of Little Rock; and two grandchildren.

Mr. Moak was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Shirley Moak, who passed away January 3, 2014; son, Timothy Moak; grandsons, Jimmy and Andrew Moak; and his brothers and sisters.

The family will receive friends Friday, July 7, 2017, 5:00 to 7:00 PM, at Robinson’s.

Graveside services will be Saturday, July 8, 2017, 1:00 PM, at Chapel Hill Cemetery near Sparkman (Dallas County), Arkansas with the Reverend James Watson officiating by Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors.

Herman Jones:

Herman Lee Jones, 61, of Pine Bluff passed June 29, 2017. He was born June 7, 1956 in Pine Bluff to the late Oscar and Florence E. Jones.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Ann Jones, The Love of His Life, Linda Tisdale, a son, Herman Jones, four daughters, Felicix Jones, Erica Shavers, Crystal Jones, and Shonta Jones; two brothers, Leroy (Cleo) Jones, and Ray (Betty) Jones; two sisters; Shirley Jones and Lena Mustiful; nine grandchildren, and a great granchild.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Old St. James Baptist Church by Rev. Joe Oliver. Burial will be in Henson Memorial Garden by Henson-Holcomb Mortuary.

Visitation will be Friday from 5 - 6:30 pm at the Mortuary.

Myrtle Beard:

Hazel Myrtle Beard, age 95, of Pine Bluff, passed away on Wednesday, July 5, 2017. Born in Grant County on March 24, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Eli Benjamin Croy and Alice Mae Duncan Croy.

Mrs. Beard was a cafeteria worker in the Pine Bluff School District for 19 years, prior to her retirement in 1991. She was also a homemaker, and a member of Canaan Missionary Baptist Church.

Her husband of 54 years, Griffin Afton Beard, preceded her in death on December 12, 1995. Also predeceasing her are two children, David Jim Beard and Margie Johnson; brothers, Luther Croy, Don Croy, Clifton Croy, and Cary Croy; a sister, Faye Harrington; and a daughter-in-law, Margaret Beard.

Survivors include two sons, William Afton Beard and Larry Beard; three daughters, Christine Martin (Jimmy), Bertha Martin (Tommy), and Mary Harper (Dave); a son-in-law, Marvin Johnson (Beth); a sister, Carolyn Andrews; ten grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 12great-great-grandchildren.
