Gloria peacefully entered into eternal rest June 26, 2017.
Her life will be celebrated at the Mabrie Memorial Mortuary, 5000 Almeda Rd, Houston, Tx 77004, Friday, July 7th, 11 AM. Visitation will be prior to service beginning at 10 AM.
Gloria's Legacy will be continued by her daughter, Tayran Cephas, son-in-law, Nathaniel Cephas III, her grandsons, Nathaniel IV and Trelan Cephas, her sister, Sharon Williams, and a host of other relatives and friends.
James Preston Powell, age 76, of the “Y” community near Rison, died Tuesday, July 4, 2017.
He was born September 5, 1940, in Bastrop, Louisiana, to Finis Preston and Leona Murphy Powell.
Mr. Powell was a member of the Rison United Methodist Church, serving as Chairman of the Finance Committee for a number of years.
He served in the Army in the Infantry. He retired from Simmons First National Corporation in December, after 32 years of service.
Preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Anoel K. Dixon of El Dorado, AR.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Koon Powell, whom he met while attending Arkansas A & M College, and went on to marry on September 3, 1966; one daughter, Dr. Tamara Powell (Richard) of Kennesaw, GA.; son, Thomas Powell(Tiffany) of White Hall, AR; granddaughters, Brooklyn Michelle Powell and Addison Elizabeth Powell; brother- in-law, Robert Dixon.
Funeral services will be Saturday, July 8, 2017, at 10:00 AM, at Rison United Methodist Church with burial to follow in Wilson Cemetery, near the “Y” community. Visitation will be held July 7, 2017, Friday 6PM-8PM, in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson and Son Funeral Home.

Thomas Caldwell Sr.:
Thomas James Caldwell, Sr the son of the late Restee and Earl Caldwell, Sr was born May 7, 1947 in Star City, Arkansas. The sunset of his life was Tuesday, June 27, 2017.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 7, 2017 at the P.K. Miller Mortuary. Interment will be in the Arkansas Memorial Gardens, Jacksonville, Arkansas by the P.K. Miller Mortuary. Visitation will be held Thursday night at the mortuary from 6-7 p.m.
Josephine McDaniel Stone, 94, of Pine Bluff, went to be with the Lord, July 3, 2017, at Trinity Village Center.
She was the third of eight children and was born November 15, 1922, in Pine Bluff, to Albert Calhoun and Viola Brown McDaniel.
She was reared and educated in Pine Bluff, graduating from Watson Chapel High School.
She was a homemaker and a lifelong member of Immanuel Baptist Church where she devoted her life to taking care of the children at the daycare and also taking care of all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She worked for the Jefferson County Election Commission. She and her husband loved traveling with friends to Razorback football games and playing bingo at Rosswood Country Club, playing bridge and traveling all over Arkansas.
Mrs. Stone was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, Archie G. “Abe” Stone whom she married on July 15, 1943 in Meridian, Mississippi; her parents; sisters, Mildred Lee, Helen Chapuis, Thelma Lanius and Marie Jordan.
Survivors include her children, Pamela Stone Ratliff of Pine Bluff, Patrick G. Stone (Margaret) of Hot Springs, Roger G. Stone of Little Rock, Phillip B. Stone (Donna) of White Hall; grandchildren, Stacy Ratliff Richey (Brian) of Rogers, Whitney Ratliff Hardin (Mark) of Gig Harbor, Washington, Timothy Stone of Sacramento, California, Rachel Stone Edwards (Tony) of Denver, Colorado, Phillip Barclay Hager (Veronica) of Bono, Jake Cantrell (Hui) of Little Rock; great grandchildren, Joe Garrett Murdock, Stone Augustus Murdock, Haley Hardin, Andrew Hardin, Mia Edwards, Jacob Cantrell V, Ashlyn Hager; sisters, Gladys Tucker, Frances Weeks (Gene); brother, Albert (Sonny) McDaniel and many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial service will be held, 4 PM, Saturday, July 8, 2017, Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with Reverend Lorrie
Slaymaker officiating. A visitation will follow the Memorial service.

Lawrence Ray Dimas, 53, of Prattsville died Sunday, July 2, 2017, in Owensboro, Kentucky.
Born August 26, 1963 in Santé Fe, New Mexico, He was the son of Lou Ella Berryman Burkhart of Prattsville and the late Freddie Dimas, Jr. He was a native of White Hall; a resident of Prattsville for many years.
Lawrence was a 1981 Graduate of White Hall High School and a United States Navy Veteran. He was a member of North Main Street Baptist Church of Sheridan, and was currently employed by MMR Construction.
An outdoorsman, Lawrence loved hunting, fishing, and riding his motorcycle. He enjoyed traveling and was a mean two-stepper.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Berryman; maternal grandparents, Colie Will and G. R. Berryman; paternal grandparents, Mary Padilla & Freddie Dimas, Sr.
In addition to his mother, two sons, John-Allen Dimas of Prattsville and Colton Dimas of Virginia Beach; sister, Kay Reppond; fiancé, Sherry Howard of White Hall; He is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Funeral Services will be Friday, July 7, 2017, 2:00 PM at Cranford Funeral Chapel of White Hall. Visitation will be Friday, 1:00 p.m. until service time.
The family will be at the residence of Ms. Sherry Howard at other times.
In lieu of flowers, there will be a memorial fund set up at a later time.
