The Arkansas Department of Health regulates the sale of food at establishments which include restaurants, bars, daycares, schools, grocery stores, convenience stores, bed and breakfast facilities, hotels/motels, mobile units and concession stands. Inspections are made unannounced by environmental health specialists.


The following are the results of food safety inspections conducted by the Jefferson County Health Unit:


• Subway, 8001 Sheridan Road, White Hall. Date of inspection into complaint June 27. No violations reported.


• Pizza Hut, 2711 S. Hazel St. Suite B. Date of inspection into complaint June 28. No violations reported.


• Ranch House Bar-b-que mobile, 6220 Dollarway Road. Date of inspection June 27. No water observed in mobile unit during inspection. Water needed in mobile unit before using next (Not in compliance; repeat violation.) Floors, walls, and ceilings in mobile unit are unclean and need to be cleaned (Not in compliance; repeat violation.) Need lighting in mobile unit before opening next (Not in compliance; repeat violation.)


• Colonial Steak House, 111 W. Eighth Ave. Date of inspection June 29. Window in back storage room is broken and needs to be repaired (Not in compliance; repeat violation.) Single service items observed in establishment being reused. Single service containers should not be reused (Not in compliance; repeat violation.)


• Kitchen Kung Fu, 8500 Dollarway Road. Date of follow-up inspection June 30. No violations reported.


• St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 412 W. Sixth Ave. Date of inspection July 6. No violations observed during time of inspection.


• Dollar General Store, 901 S. Blake St. Date of inspection July 6. No violations observed during time of inspection.
