Quinton Wade, a native of Pine Bluff, recently accepted the position of software engineer with Lockheed Martin, a global aerospace, defense, security and advanced technologies company at Boulder, Colorado.


According to a press release from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, Wade will receive a master’s degree in computer science and technology in December 2017. He was scheduled to begin work June 1.


“He took advantage of the opportunities available through the (UAPB) Office of Career Services and has reaped the benefits of utilizing those services,” a spokesman said in a news release.


Wade received multiple offers after attending the National Society of Black Engineers Convention at Kansas City, Missouri, and the International Organization of Black Security Executive Conference at Bentonville.


After evaluating the offers, he decided Lockheed Martin was the best decision, the spokesman said. His salary range will be $85,000 - $90,000 per year plus relocation expenses.


Office of Career Services prepares students for the transition from college to careers. Students are provided with career development counseling for the job search process which includes resume writing, interview preparation and dressing for success, the spokesman said.
