The Jefferson County Historical Society will meet at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 16, at the Donald W. Reynolds Community Services Center, 211 W. Third Ave.

The guest speaker will be Timothy Nutt, director of the Historical Research Center at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences at Little Rock. His talk will be on the history of medicine in Arkansas.

Previously, Nutt was director of the special collections archive at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, Deputy Curator at the Central Arkansas Library System at Little Rock, and the first managing editor and staff historian for the Encyclopedia of Arkansas History & Culture.

A certified archivist since 2005, Nutt is the immediate past president of the Arkansas Historical Association. The public is invited to attend.
