The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff selected Aramark for dining services management effective July 1.


“We are pleased to begin a new partnership with Aramark,” UAPB Chancellor Laurence B. Alexander said in a news release. “We would like to thank Thompson Hospitality for its dedication and service to UAPB. We look forward to the opportunities presented by our new relationship with Aramark, which was the successful bidder in the state-mandated procurement process.”


Aramark will focus on delivering a new vision for dining on campus, according to the news release.


Plans include bringing innovative and sustainable retail brands to campus, including Pizza Hut’s new customizable 9-inch hand-tossed pizzas in addition to favorites such as wings and pasta.


“This will be the first Pizza Hut of its kind on an University of Arkansas campus; adding variety and convenience to the JBJ Housing Complex with the addition of Provisions On Demand (P.O.D.) Market, a fully branded, robust convenience store,” according to the release.


Aramark also plans to engage current dining employees through training, recognition and career development opportunities; give back to the local community through service activities and food donations; and enhance the living and learning experience through programming, including special events and theme meals.


The company will also continue to offer student favorites Chick-fil-A and Starbucks -We Proudly Serve.
