Hunter's Elite fell short in the Arkansas Dixie Majors State Tournament on Saturday night. The Elite played against Prescott at Taylor Field and were defeated by a score of 4-1.
Brandon Little started on the mound for the Elite, allowing no runs in the first inning. However, in the second inning, Little gave up a double to Dakota Stafford for Prescott's first hit of the game. Trace Collie hit a two-run home run over the right field wall to put Prescott ahead 2-0.
In the fourth inning, Lance Harville-Thomas reached base on an error, and Stafford also hit a two-run home run to increase Prescott's lead to 4-0.
Little was replace by Ja'Kobi Jackson on the mound in the fifth inning, finishing with seven strikeouts and allowing three hits.
Ben Madison started on the mound for Prescott. In the fifth inning, after allowing no hits or runs, Madison hit Kacy Higgins Jr. to put a runner on base for the Elite. A pass ball allowed Higgins to reached second before Jaylon Deshazier hit a long fly out to right field to drive Higgins in for their first run of the game.
Unfortunately, the Elite couldn't complete the comeback and ended their season.
Madison finished with 12 strikeouts and no hits. Little finished with seven strikeouts, allowing three hits. Jackson finished with six strikeouts while allowing no hits.
