The White Hall School District Child Nutrition Department recently announced its policy for free and reduced price meals for children under the National School Lunch Program, Afterschool Snack Program, and/or School Breakfast Program for the 2017-18 school year. The price is $1.50 for a paid student breakfast and $2.75 for lunch.

Household size and income criteria will be used to determine eligibility for free or reduced price meal benefits. Children from households whose income is at or below levels on the application are eligible for free or reduced price meals. For example, in a household of one person, the annual income level is $15,678 for free meals and $22,311 for reduced price meals.

Children are also eligible if their families receive SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits, they are foster children, enrolled in Head Start/Even Start or are certified as migrant or homeless.

Applications are available at the administration office and may be viewed by interested parties. The determining official will review submitted applications. Details: White Hall Child Nutrition Department, 870-247-2171, or Doug Dorris, 247-2002.
