A free special screening of RARE: Creatures of the Photo Ark will be presented from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, July 15, at the Delta Rivers Nature Center in Regional Park.

The Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas and the Nature Center are hosts of the sneek peek at the Photo Ark, a new PBS television series.

The film will feature work of National Geographic photographer Joel Sartore and his 11-year quest to create the Photo Ark, a digital collection of all species being preserved in zoos and animal sanctuaries across the world.

“After the screening, participants can create their own animal stories through stop-motion animation and learn how to use their IPhone for nature photography,” according to a press release. “Delta River Nature Center staff will talk about Arkansas’ endangered animals and participants are invited to live snake and alligator feedings.”
