Anniversaries


Bethel New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, 2522 N. Pryce St., will celebrate the third anniversary of the pastor and wife, the Rev. Roosevelt Simmons Jr. and Shannon Simmons, at 11 a.m. Sunday, July 16. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Terry Brown of Richardson, Texas, formerly of Pine Bluff.


Freedom Missionary Baptist Church at Altheimer will celebrate the 22nd anniversary of the pastor and wife, the Rev. Brian K. Dodson and Jackie Dodson, and family at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 16. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Aaron Barnes, pastor of New Home Missionary Baptist Church at Pine Bluff.


The Church of the Living God, 3120 Gravel Pit Road, will celebrate the 37th pastoral anniversary of Elder Theodis and Bobbie Edwards at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 16. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Brian Castle, pastor of Indiana Street Baptist Church at Pine Bluff.


Concerts


Prairie Lake Missionary Baptist Church, 2611 Indiana St., will sponsor its choir annual at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 16. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Brandon Dyer, a pastor from Crossett.


Men’s/Women’s events


New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, 1026 Missouri St., will celebrate its annual women’s day at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Sunday, July 16. The guest speaker will be Jacqueline D. Palmer of Anointed Temple Church at Brinkley.


First Missionary Baptist Church, 4500 Faucett Road, will present its annual men’s day program at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 16. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Arthur Hughes of First Baptist Church at Humphrey.


Pine Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 2101 W. Reeker St., will celebrate women’s day beginning with a brunch at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 15, at the church’s family life center. The guest speaker will be Leaketa Jenkins, the first lady of First Baptist Missionary Baptist Church at Sweet Home. At 10:30 a.m. Sunday, July 16, the guest speaker will be Tammy Shelton, the first lady at Lampkin Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.


Liberty Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 6300 U.S. 79 South, will observe its men’s and women’s day at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 16. The guest speaker will be Gloria Conyers, an evangelist with Mount of Olive Baptist Church at Brinkley.


Breath of Life Church evangelist, Valerie C. Rasberry, will host a women’s single and marriage forum starting at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, at Cross Heirs Retreat Center at Humphrey. Speakers include ministers, Shirley Sanders, Gail Stith and Dorothy Highsmith, and medical staff, Dr. Toni Middleton and registered nurse Katherine Williams. Registration is free, however lunch is $20. For overnight visitors, lodging costs $75 and includes three meals. The deadline to register is Friday, July 21. Revivals


St. Peter’s Rock Baptist Church, 1201 S. Catalpa St., will present its “I Will: Recommitment and Enrichment” Conference and Revival Monday through Thursday, July 17-20. At 6 p.m., the conference presenter will be William Dwight McKissic Sr., pastor of Cornerstone Baptist Church at Arlington, Texas. At 7 p.m., the guest speaker for the revival will be the Rev. Jerry D. Black, pastor of Beulah Missionary Baptist Church of Decatur, Georgia.


Special programs


St. Peter’s Rock Baptist Church, 1201 S. Catalpa St., will present its annual mission program at 11 a.m. Sunday, July 16. The sermon will be by the pastor, the Rev. Darren Edgerson.


SONLite Ministries, 5103 W. Malcomb St., and the pastor, Jenise “Sandy” Blake, will host the Enrichment and Empowerment Conference 2017. The general public is invited to sessions at 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday, July 20-21. A session for pastors and leaders only will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 22, and brunch will be served. The conference speaker will be Ricky E. Walker, bishop and pastor of City of Deliverance International Ministries at Lithonia, Georgia.


Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church is sponsoring a trip to Branson, Missouri, to see a Biblical stage play. The group will depart Friday, July 28, and return Saturday, July 29. New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church, 1317 Texas St., will host the City Wide Mission meeting at 1:30 p.m. Monday, July 17.


St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 1404 Georgia St., will host its annual mission day at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 16. The featured speaker will be Jeanne Moss of Liberty Hill Missionary Baptist Church at Little Rock and president of the Consolidated Missionary Baptist State Convention Women’s Auxiliary.


Remnant Outreach Ministry, 1210 S. Cherry St., suite 17 and 19 of the Williams Building, will present the Handwriting on the Wall with these speakers at 7 p.m. on the following dates: Wednesday, July 19, the Rev. Chester Chatman, pastor of New Life Ministry at Pine Bluff; Thursday, July 20, the Rev. Arthur Haney of Central Community Baptist Church at Lake Village; and Friday, July 21, Daniel Collier, an apostle of R.A.M. and H.O.M.E. at Pine Bluff.


First Baptist Church of Ladd, 4901 McDonley Road, will host its annual mission ministry program at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, July 16. The guest speaker will be Otis L. Walters, a minister of First Trinity Church of God in Christ.

Youth


Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 2008 Vaugine St., will celebrate its annual youth day at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 16. The special guests will be the Rev. Royce Jackson Jr., pastor of New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church at Dumas, along with his congregation.


New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church, 14th Avenue and Texas Street, will celebrate its annual youth day and honor its graduates and other youth at 11 a.m. Sunday, July 16. Words of encouragement will be given by the Rev. S.J. Womack of the Old St. James Missionary Baptist Church.


New Faith Missionary Baptist Church, 3800 Fir St., will host its annual neighborhood fun day from 10 to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 15, with free food and fellowship for all participants. The youth day workshop choir will rehearse at 2:30 p.m. Saturday. The annual youth day service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 16.


Old Morning Star Baptist Church, 3116 Port Road, will hold youth day at 11 a.m. Sunday, July 16. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Dontae Nickelson of Amos Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.
