The Arkansas Department of Health regulates the sale of food at establishments which include restaurants, bars, daycares, schools, grocery stores, convenience stores, bed and breakfast facilities, hotels/motels, mobile units and concession stands. Inspections are made unannounced by environmental health specialists.


The following are the results of food safety inspections conducted by the Jefferson County Health Unit:


• Crenshaw Springs Water Park, 9801 Dollarway Road, White Hall. Date of inspection June 30. Ceiling vents in kitchen are unclean and need to be cleaned (Not in compliance; repeat violation.)


• Compton’s Catering, 218 S. Blake St. Date of inspection July 6. Vent hood is unclean and needs to be cleaned (Not in compliance; repeat violation.)


• Auntie M’s Day Care, 2101 W. 17th Ave. Date of inspection July 6. Observation: Need chlorine test strips to ensure proper sanitizing solution concentration (Not in compliance; repeat violation.) Observation: Microwave needs to be cleaned (Not in compliance; repeat violation.)


• Moma Keta’s Childcare & Developmental Center, 2300 W. 31st Ave. Date of inspection July 7. Observation: Need chlorine test strips to ensure proper sanitizing solution concentration (Not in compliance; repeat violation.) Observation: No current health permit posted (Not in compliance; repeat violation.)


• Mrs. Sonya’s Child Care, 4000 Old Warren Road. Date of inspection July 5. No violations observed during time of inspection.


• Chicken House #2, 2510 E. Harding Ave. Date of inspection July 10. Observation: a valid permit must be posted in view of the public (Not in compliance; repeat violation.)


• Lucky’s Cafe, 310 E. Fifth Ave. Date of inspection into complaint July 11. No violations observed during time of inspection.


• Fred’s retail store, 1701 Commerce Road. Date of inspection July 13. No violations observed during time of inspection.
