Desha County Compassionate Friends will conduct the 18th annual Walk to Remember beginning at 7 a.m. Saturday, July 29.
Held in memory of deceased children, the two-mile walk will be held on the indoor track of the Dumas Community Center at Dumas.
All parents, grandparents and siblings (of deceased children), friends, family members, churches and other organizations are invited to join the walk to remember all children gone too soon, according to a news release.
“Whether you walk the two miles or a couple of hundred feet is not important,” a spokeswoman said. “What matters is that you have taken this time to join with the friends — new and old — and families who are walking the same journey with you as in the past years.”
If participants are unable to walk, they are invited to sit and watch the walkers.
Compassionate Friends and supportive friends are asked to wear the CF T-shirt or a T-shirt in memory of a loved one.
Desha County Compassionate Friends is a national nonprofit, self-help support organization that offers friendship, understanding, and hope to bereaved parents, grandparents and siblings grieving the death of a child of any age, from any cause.
