William Blankenship III:

William “Bill” Hunt Blankenship III, 79, of Pine Bluff, Ark.,went to be with the Lord on July 24, 2017.

He was born October 16, 1937, in Pine Bluff, to William Hunt Blankenship, Jr. and Lucy True Bussel Blankenship.

He was reared and educated in Pine Bluff, graduating from Pine Bluff High School in 1956.

Bill served in the United Sates Navy Reserve.

He retired from Safeway and Harvest Food after many years of service. After retirement he worked for Triple A as a Supervisor.

Bill was a member of Good Faith Carr United Methodist Church, past member of the Lions Club, past volunteer for the Easter Seals and enjoyed bowling when he was younger.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Shirley Turley.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Lou Price Blankenship, whom he married on February 23, 1963, in Pine Bluff; a son, Scott Blankenship of Pine Bluff and a special cousin, Joe Overstreet of Mountain View.

Visitation will be 1 to 2 PM at Robinson.

Funeral services will be 2 PM, Thursday, July 27, 2017, Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with Reverend Robert Lyons officiating.

Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Hazel Divine:

Ms. Hazel Leona Divine, age 74, of Pine Bluff, Ark., passed away Thursday, July 20, 2017 at her home.

J.C. Rogers:

KINGSLAND - J.C. Rogers, 69, of Kingsland died Monday July 24, 2017. Born February 3, 1948 at Houston, Texas, he was a son of the late Orvis Rogers and Vera Marshall Rogers.

He is survived by his son, Jason Rogers and his wife, Heather of Pine Bluff; two brothers, David Rogers and his wife, Kaye of Sheridan, Dennis Rogers and his wife, Pattie of Sheridan; two sisters, Linda Vailes and her husband, husband Rayvon of Sheridan, Pat Eoff and her husband, Jim of Clinton; two grandchildren, Jake Rogers and Clay Rogers; aunt, Velma Jones of Carthage; former wife, Jo Clements Rogers of Pine Bluff; and special friend, Elaine McDougald of New Edinburg.

The family will receive friends Friday from 12 to 2 p.m. at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. Friday at the Benton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Nathan Rogers officiating.

Matthew Henry:

Mr. Matthew Henry, 74, of Pine Bluff, Ark., passed Wednesday, July 19, 2017. He was born in Rison, Ark. to the late Isaiah and Inez (Beasley) Henry.

He was the first African-American CPA in Arkansas and owned Matthew Henry, CPA.

He leaves to cherish his memories, son, Rev. Jermon Henry of North Little Rock; Three daughters, Marian Nelson of Memphis, Tenn., Dr. Candace Pace of Hampton, Va., and Dr. Esther Pace of San Antonio, Texas; Three sisters, Marie Sprinkle Coleman and Mattie Johnson of Pine Bluff, and Christine Hawkins of Newport News, Va. Seven Grandchildren; Three Great-Grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be 10 a.m., Thursday, July 27, 2017, at Brown Funeral Home by Rev. Jermon Henry. Interment will be in Forrest Lawn Cemetery by Brown Funeral Home of Pine Bluff.

His body will lie in-state Thursday, 9:15 a.m., until service.

Visitation will be Wednesday, 6-7 p.m., at Brown Funeral Home.
