A 3-year-old boy has died after sustaining injuries during a July 21 fire at the Pineywood Apartments at 2200 Woodgate, the Pine Bluff Fire and Emergency Services department announced in a news release on Thursday.
JeTarius Nesim Urquhart-Walker was one of four residents who were transported to Arkansas Children’s Hospital for smoke inhalation. The adult female and another child have been released from the hospital, while an infant remains hospitalized, the news release said. The fire was reported at Building 24, Apt. B. Twelve firefighters from four companies fought the blaze for almost two hours before being able to leave the scene. The Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
“Pine Bluff Fire & Emergency Services would like to extend our deepest condolences to the family,” the news release said.
