Dollarway School District will host its back-to-school Family Fun Day Festival from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, at Hestand Stadium, 420 N Blake St.
The event will allow parents, teachers, children and residents to meet and ask questions so that students and their families start off the new school year feeling ready and connected, according to a news release.
“We want to start the year off on a high note by connecting with the entire community to support our students. This year, one of our major areas of focus will be on stakeholder engagement. We need everyone to be successful,” Dollarway Superintendent Barbara Warren said in the release.
“This activity was born from the collaboration of our Dollarway Community School Initiative as well as the newly formed Dollarway Foundation. One of the major themes the foundation has adopted is ‘We Are Family.’ Within this theme, you will see the Dollarway, Altheimer and Townsend Park mascots,” Warren said.
“We are indeed family and our efforts are going to promote all of the members of our family. We can’t thank our partners enough. We are looking forward to a fun time and we hope to see our entire Dollarway Family at this event,” she said.
The event will include a cookout, bounce houses, basketball competition and volleyball. Informational booths about school and community resources will be available and a community health fair will be held. School supplies will be given away and prizes will be awarded.
