JeTarius Nesim Urquhart-Walker, 3, went to play with the angels on Sunday, July 23, 2017, at Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas.

He was born May 13, 2014, to LaDessa N. McCain of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, and Quintarios Walker of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Left to cherish his memory are his parents, grandparents, two brothers, John C. Walker and Jesim Walker; two sisters, Jahlany McCain and Rose Robinson; a special aunt, Shirley Urquhart of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Services will be held Saturday, July 29, 2017, at Family Time MBC, Rev. Micheal Williams, Pastor and Rev. Rashawn Howard, Officiant. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 28, 2017 6 - 7 pm at Perry Funeral Home.

Leonard Merritt, 71, of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, passed July 21, 2017. He was born April 1, 1946, to the late Cornelius and Rosie Merritt in Sheridan, Arkansas,

He was preceded in death by one son, Patrick Merritt Sr., and one daughter, Pamela Merritt Davis. Three sisters: Bernice Gaynor, Vernatine Fletcher and Elmira Terry. One brother: Cleophis Merritt, all of Pine Bluff, Arkansas,

He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife Bertha Merritt of 38 years. Three daughters: Sharon (Tyrone) Ruth, Sheila (Vincent) Banister and Tomeka (Jeff) Turner; One son: Michael Merritt, Two brothers: McClary and Clyde Merritt all of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, 21 Grandchildren, and 46 great grandchildren.

Luther George “Sporty” Curry, 76, of Pine Bluff, passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2017. He was born October 6, 1940, in Snow Lake.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Ruby Jean Curry; five daughters, Katherine Curry, Reshon Black, Gail Pulling, Diane Washington, Lynn Merrit; three sons, Glynn Curry, Carl Rabun, and Wayne Pridgett; one sister Bettye Curry Spears twenty-one grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 10 am on Saturday at New Community Church with Rev. Sammie Williams Officiating. Interment will follow in Cypress Memorial Gardens Cemetery by Paradise Funeral Home of Pine Bluff.

MONTICELLO - Dwight Allen Hudspeth, age 49, of Monticello, Arkansas, and formerly of McGehee, Arkansas, passed away Saturday July 22, 2017, at his home.

Funeral service will be Saturday, at 2:30 p.m. at Holmes Chapel Presbyterian Church Monticello, with Rev. Robert Cook, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at Strickland Memorial Lawn in McGehee by Paradise Funeral Home of Monticello.

John Norsworthy:

John Laurence Norsworthy, 48, of Pine Bluff, died Monday, July 24, 2017.

He was born May 19, 1969, in Jonesboro, son of Jimmie Don and Brenda Cubbage Norsworthy. John and his family moved to Pine Bluff when he was eight months old.

John was reared and received his early education in Pine Bluff, where he graduated from Pine Bluff High School in 1987.

He loved animals, collecting and rescuing them all through his life. The latest were two dogs, Dooby and Sally Ann, who were his faithful companions.

John worked at many restaurants in Fayetteville and Pine Bluff and was an accomplished cook.

He was good with his hands and worked at Abbott Tachograph. He found solace in all kinds of music and loved coffee.

You could almost always find him with a cup in his hand.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Joffrey “John” and Frances Cubbage; paternal grandparents, James and Vera Norsworthy; and uncle, Billy Brown.

Survivors include his beloved son, Mason Laurence Norsworthy; parents, Jimmie Don and Brenda Norsworthy; sister, Denver Norsworthy; and aunts and uncles, Sandra Cubbage, Janee and Jay Miller, Carol Brown and Shelley and Grady Shepherd.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m., Monday, July 31, 2017 in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson and Son with Father Travis Frank officiating.

John died from a heart attack. He had struggled many years with crippling Bipolar Disorder. For those who have loved ones who are fighting addiction or mental illness, John’s family asks that they do everything possible to guide them to proper diagnosis and supportive help.
