Anniversaries


The Wabbaseka Church of Christ will celebrate the sixth pastoral anniversary of the minister and wife, Jeffery and Lisa Miller, from 3-5 p.m. Saturday, July 29, at the Pine Bluff Convention Center.


Rock of Faith Deliverance Church, 1717 S. Main St., will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the pastor, Frankie Dennis, at 4 p.m. Sunday, July 30. The guest speaker will be Jacqueline Ross, pastor of Hosanna Christian Ministries.


Good Faith Carr United Methodist Church, 3703 Ryburn Road, will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the merger of Good Faith and Carr Memorial churches, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, July 30. A special worship service will be held followed by a luncheon in the fellowship hall. Guest speakers include the Rev. Fred Arnold and Pine Bluff Mayor Shirley Washington. All former members are invited to attend.


Concerts

Men’s/Women’s days


Pleasant View Ministry Church, 1117 N. Palm St., will present a women’s day worship service at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 30. The guest speaker will be Margarette Williams of New St. Hurricane Missionary Baptist Church. The guest choir director will be Ellen Harbin, assistant pastor at Star of Bethlehem Church at Greenville, Mississippi. Rehearsal will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, July 29, at the church.


Mulberry Grove Missionary Baptist Church of Altheimer will celebrate men’s day Sunday, July 30. At 11 a.m., the speaker will be the Rev. Willie Laws, pastor of New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church at Altheimer. At 3 p.m., the Rev. Glenn Barnes Sr., pastor of Pine Hill Missionary Baptist Church at Pine Bluff, will be the speaker and the Southeast Arkansas Male Choir will sing.


Revivals


Love Fellowship and Deliverance Church of God in Christ, 411 S. Orlando St., will conduct revival at 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, July 31 through Aug. 4. The guest speaker will be Elder Lester Gaston Sr. of Main Street Church of God in Christ.


Special events


Canaan Christian Center, 7890 Middle Warren Road, will present its Leader-Shift Conference 2017 Part III from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, July 29. The apostle, Craig Banks, and pastor, Sheryl Banks, are the hosts. “The focus is empowering Pastors and Leaders in this season of Kingdom Convergence,” spokesman said. New Derrisaux Missionary Baptist Church, 4010 Old Warren Road, will hold its fill-a-pew program at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 30. The sermon will be by the Rev. Edward Demery, pastor of Almeta Missionary Baptist Church at Dumas, accompanied by his congregation. Musical guests will include Webb Sisters, Fredrick Webb, a minister, and the Canaan Christian Center Praise Team.


New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, 1026 Missouri St., will host the Greater St. Marion District 101st annual Congress of Christian Education from 6-8 p.m. Monday through Friday, July 31 through Aug. 4. A concert will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday, July 30. Instructors include Constance Castle and the Revs. Charles Helloms Jr., Brian Castle, Levell Bass, Ronald Laurent, T.R. Ramey.


Grace and Mercy Missionary Baptist Church, 817 W. Sixth Ave., will hold its family and friends day at 11 a.m. Sunday, July 30. The speaker will be the pastor, the Rev. Joshua Pickett.


Prairie Lake Church, 2611 Indiana St., will conduct the ordination services of associate ministers at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 30. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Melvin Harrison, pastor of St. Ollie Missionary Baptist Church at Star City.


Motley Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 794 St. Raphael Road, will host a five-church fellowship at 11 a.m. Sunday, July 30. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Pete Davis, pastor of Prayer Garden Revival Center. The fellowship also includes Solomon Hill, New United Baptist and Timothy Chapel Baptist churches.


Word of Faith Church, 1108 S. Poplar St., will sponsor its family and friends day at 10:45 a.m. Sunday, July 30. The speaker will be the pastor, Henry Land Jr.


First Missionary Baptist Church, 4500 Faucett Road, will celebrate family and friends day at 11 a.m. Sunday, July 30. The pastor, the Rev. Charles Boyd, will be the speaker.

Daniel Chapel Missionary Baptist Church at Moscow will sponsor its youth day at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, July 30. The guest speaker will be the Rev. James Rice, pastor of Greater Battle Chapel Missionary Baptist Church at Altheimer.


Union Missionary Baptist Church, 609 E. 24th Ave., will celebrate youth day at 11 a.m. Sunday, July 30.


Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 1801 Indiana St., will host the 91st Young People’s Department session of the Greater St. Marion District Congress of Christian Education. Sessions will be 6-7:30 p.m. July 31 through Aug. 4. The Rev. Harold Shirlee will be the instructor. Classes will include Bible bowl, Articles of Faith and Baptist Doctrine. Christian movies will be shown for ages 4-10. A fun day will be held with free bowling and pizza Friday, Aug. 11.
