Following graduation, she moved to Bethany, Okla. to attend Bethany Nazarene College (now Southern Nazarene University). Her heart though, was set on sharing her life with L.D. who had joined the Army and had been wounded in Germany. Together they shared 68 years of marriage and are survived by their children: Larry W. Mary had a love for the Lord that caused her to have a heart filled with kindness and was known by many as ’sweet Mary’! She enjoyed reading her Bible and praying, teaching Sunday School, sewing, making crosses out of canvas and ribbon; playing the piano, and entertaining her family. She had worked as a accountant/bookkeeper for Simmons Bank and Bank of America; owned and operated with her husband, mother and children, Oakland Park Kiddieland for 15 years, and eventually worked and retired as Assistant Manager from S & H Green Stamp Company in Pine Bluff in 1988. She and L.D. moved to North Little Rock in 1995 and they lived there until 2013. They were affiliated with First Assembly of God and Brockington Road Nazarene Church in North Little Rock. She was, at the time of her death, a member of First Baptist Church in Pine Bluff.
Visitation will be at Ralph Robinson and Son in Pine Bluff from 10 - 11:30 a.m. Wednesday August 2nd. A short graveside service will be held that same day at 1 p.m. at Griffin-Leggett Rest Hills in North Little Rock, Reverend Larry W. Greene, Jr., grandson of the deceased officiating.
Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of His saints. O LORD, Mary Greene truly was Your servant and You have loosed her bonds to this world by taking her Home to be with You. We thank You, Father, for Your faithfulness and we call upon Your Name to bring comfort and healing to a family that will dearly miss this precious saint! ~Amen
