Naomi Williams:

Naomi Catherine Slack Williams, wife, mother, sister, aunt and teacher was born on September 5, 1918 in Wilmot, Ark. to the late Hughey Turner Slack and the late Willie Mae Frazier Slack. After decades teaching at Norma C. O’Bannon High School, Naomi retired to be with family and serve others.

Naomi committed her life to the Lord at a young age and was a faithful member ofJohn Wesley A.M.E. Church of Wilmot, Ark., St. Matthew A.M.E. Church of Greenville, Miss., and finally St. John A.M.E. Church of Pine Bluff, Ark. She received her early education at J.C. Corbin High School and her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Arkansas Pine Bluff (Formerly AM&N College). She and Ambrose T. Williams were united in holy matrimony in 1940.

Naomi passed away peacefully on July 28, 2017. She was predeceased by her husband, Ambrose T. Williams, her son, Ambrose Jr., her parents, four sisters, Alsenia, Kayte, Willie Mae and Helen Louise, four brothers, Hughey, William Leroy, Malvin Eugene and Monroe.

She leaves to cherish in her memory her two sons, Wesley Bernard Williams of Metcalfe, Miss., and Malvin Eugene Slack of Los Angeles, Calif., two sisters, Ruby Waters of Bastrop La., Betty Ruth Johnson of Los Angeles, Calif., and three brothers, Paul Slack, Clark Adams of Minneapolis Minn., Marvin Shaw of San Diego, Calif., and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Home going service will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, August 3, 2017, at P. K. Miller Mortuary, 204 East Second Avenue. Visitation will also be at P. K. Miller on Wednesday, August 2, 2017, from 5 – 7 PM.

CHICAGO, ILL. - Mr. Mario Earl Robinson, 43, of Chicago, Ill. passed Tuesday, July 18, 2017. He was born in Little Rock, Ark. to the late Freddie Earl Robinson and Judith Carol Gray Smith of Pine Bluff.

He is survived by: His Mother; One son, Justin G. Robinson of Pine Bluff, Ark.; One Daughter, Brandi Robinson-Sloan of Conway, Ark.; Three brothers, Kerry Battle and Justin Jefferies both of Pine Bluff and Alvin Wilson of Houston, Texas; Step-Father, Leo Smith of Pine Bluff, Ark.

Funeral Service will be 11 a.m., Thursday, August 3, 2017 at Family Time Baptist Church by Rev. Michael Williams. Interment will be in Forrest Lawn Cemetery by Brown Funeral Home of Pine Bluff.

His body will lie in-state Thursday, 10:15 a.m., until service.

Visitation/Family hour will be Wednesday, 5:30 - 7 p.m., at Brown Funeral Home.
