Mrs. Earma Lee Mooney, 90 of Pine Bluff passed Wednesday, July 26, 2017. She was born in Sherrill, Ark. to the late Willie Franklin and Lummie (Nelson) Franklin.
She is survived by: Five Sons, Elvin Jackson and Earnest Franklin both of Little Rock, Ark., Donnie Ray Franklin of Los Angeles, Calif., Terry Mooney of Maumelle, Ark. and Troy Mooney of Pine Bluff; Five Daughters, Mary Harris of Little Rock, Shirley Young of Inglewood, Calif., Loraine Franklin-Mooney of Pine Bluff, Edna Mooney of Mayflower, Ark., Cynthia Sims of Pine Bluff; One Sister, Gladys Marie Jackson of Little Rock, Ark.; 35 Grandchildren; 44 GreatGrandchildren; 14 Great- Great Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great-Great-Grandchild.
Funeral Service will be 10 a.m., Saturday, August 5, 2017 at St. James UMC by Rev. Brother Brent Mooney. Interment will be in Antioch Cemetery in Sherrill, Ark. by Brown Funeral Home of Pine Bluff, Ark.
Visitation/Family hour will be Friday, 7:30-8:30 p.m., at Brown Funeral Home.
Her body will lie in-state Saturday, 9:15 a.m., until service.

Irene Laverne DeWalt Bennett was born on June 4, 1955 in Pine Bluff, Ark. and was the oldest of Irene and Gabe DeWalt’s four children. She departed from her earthly home on Friday morning, July 28, 2017 at Medical City Dallas Hospital.
Irene accepted Christ at an early age and joined New Hope C.M.E. Church in Pine Bluff, Ark. She received her education in the Pine Bluff Public School District and was a member of the Pine Bluff High School Acapella Choir from 1970-73. She graduated from Pine Bluff High School in May 1973 and continued her education at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB). Irene was initiated into the Alpha Rho Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. in the Fall of 1975 on the campus of UAPB. She received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Education from UAPB and subsequently, began employment with the Pine Bluff School District and later with Simmons First National Bank and the Arkansas Department of Corrections.
Irene moved to Dallas in 1984. She married Willie C. Bennett August 12, 1988. Irene joined New Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Robert E. Price, Sr. Irene later joined Christian Chapel Temple of Faith C.M.E. Church and was a member of Covenant Church at the time of her death.
Irene was employed in the financial services industry for over 20 years with Merrill Lynch and Penson Financial Services, Inc. She worked in the Insurance Industry during the last six years with several companies including Aflac Insurance, Univers Workplace Solutions, and Hodges Mace. She had General Lines Insurance Licenses in several states. She was also employed by Belk Department Store at the time of her death.
Irene was preceded in death by her parents, Gabe and Irene Maxwell DeWalt and husband, Willie C. Bennett. She leaves to cherish her memory sons, Jeremy Jerrard DeWalt of San Diego, Calif. and Brandon Bernard Bennett of Dallas, Texas; daughter, Nikell JeKyese DeWalt of Plano, Texas; brothers Paul DeWalt (Wife - Gail) and Calvin DeWalt both of Pine Bluff, Ark.; sister, Lynnette DeWalt Huggard (Husband - Roger) of Frisco, Texas; grandsons, Deshun Jackson of San Marcos, Texas and Pearce Ladd of Plano, Texas; and a host of relatives and friends.
Irene's Celebration of Life will be held at 11 am on Friday, August 4, 2017 at Covenant Church in Carrollton, Texas.

Mr. Billie Ray “Geeche” Allen, 61, of Pine Bluff passed on July 28, 2017. Billie was born, to the late Willie Allen Sr. and the late Margie Smith Allen.

Talisa L. Cannon 28 of Altheimer, Ark. passed away on July 27, 2017. She was employed at Lennox Intl in Stuttgart, Ark. She is survived by her 4 children: Natalie, Jamarion, JaQuavias, and Caleb; her mother, Ella Cannon; 3 brothers: Cornelius, Joel, and Demonte; 3 sisters, Rose Davis, LaRhonda Cannon, and Latasha Cannon; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Sandra Dees Breshears, a longtime resident of Pine Bluff, died Tuesday, August 1, 2017 in Little Rock after a courageous battle with lung cancer. She was 82.
Sandra was born June 1, 1935, in Pocahontas, the third of six children born to Ben Woodall Dees and Marcia Collier Dees. She grew up in Little Rock and graduated from Little Rock (Central) High School, where she was a varsity cheerleader. She attended the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, where she was a member of Chi Omega sorority and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. She also earned a Master’s in Education from Oklahoma State University.
Sandra was beloved by multiple generations of family and friends. She made her home in Pine Bluff after marrying Dr. David Eldon Breshears on September 8, 1956. Dr. Breshears, a veterinarian who maintained a private practice in Pine Bluff for nearly 50 years, died in 2009.
Sandra was a past president of the Junior League of Pine Bluff and served twice as president of Chapter AU of PEO. She was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church of Pine Bluff, where she served as a Deacon, Sunday School teacher, and President of the Women of the Church.
She taught school in the Pine Bluff area for several years and, after raising her children, returned to the workplace. She worked at Pickwick Bookstore for 20 years. Most recently, she worked as the finance manager at Neighbor to Neighbor for 11 years until illness forced her to retire in 2016.
With her late husband, Sandra was active in the ownership of thoroughbred race horses, including stakes winners Dr.’s Enjoy Dollars and Bold Kabota. She loved spending time fishing at the Breshears Farm in Wabbaseka and was an avid reader.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her first-born son, David Eldon Breshears, Jr.
She is survived by two sons, Hunter Dees Breshears (Virginia) of Bentonville and Stanley Broek Breshears (Erika) of Rogers; four sisters, Nodya Lambert of Little Rock, Fredonia Witherspoon (Gayland) of Conway, Mozella Flucht (Elmer) of Maumelle, and Jane Lovett Holt (Jack) of Little Rock; and a brother, David Dees (Sherri) of Crystal Lake, Ill.
Survivors also include twelve grandchildren: Drake Breshears and Ashton Breshears, both of Rogers, Ark., Victoria Breshears of El Paso, Texas, Elizabeth Breshears Schlosser (Drew) of Stillwater, Okla., Houston David Breshears of Denver, Colo., Benjamin Breshears, William Breshears, and Juliana Breshears, all of Ames, Iowa, Mary Raines Scriber of Fulton, Mo.; Taylor Scriber of Appleton, Wisc.; Hastings Scriber and Patricia Scriber of Bentonville, Ark.
Other survivors include cousins Melinda Frew of Houston, Texas, and John Frew of Wright City, Mo., both formerly of Pine Bluff; and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a sincere thank you for the love and support of dear friends, Ann Benton Pugh, Susan Grygiel and Taylor Phillips.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, August 12, at the First Presbyterian Church of Pine Bluff with the Rev. Susan Matthews Arnold officiating. The family will receive visitors in McColgan Hall following the service. Burial will be private by Ralph Robinson & Son.
