Clarence Dwayne Milner, 86, of Pine Bluff, died Friday, July 14, 2017.

He was born April 27, 1931 in Camden, son of Thomas Graham Milner and Dessie Dale Garmany Milner.

Mr. Milner was reared and received his early education in Gould, graduating from Gould High School in 1949.

He proudly served our country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.

Mr. Milner was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church in Pine Bluff where he led the youth bible study class and the Boy Scouts Troop for several years.

He earned his living and provided for his family while employed at International Paper Company retiring in 1993 after 34 consecutive years of service and part-time as a wedding photographer.

Mr. Milner enjoyed taking care of his family, quail hunting, fishing, playing boogie-woogie on the piano and expressing his sense of humor. He also enjoyed volunteering as videographer for the Dollarway High School football program for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Immediate family survivors include his loving wife, Ivy Ellen Bickerstaff Milner, whom he married October 23, 1953 in Roe, Ark.; daughter, Laura Jane Milner Clement of Pine Bluff; son, Thomas Dwayne Milner of Kansas City, Mo.; three grandchildren, Erin Ellen Clement, Caroline Nicole Ewing, Jonathan Thomas Milner; two great-grandsons, Lochlan Thomas Ewing and Ehren Harper Gatlin Abbott; brother, Thomas Graham Milner Jr. of Tucker, Ga.; two sisters, Patsy Ruth Reed of San Angelo, Texas and Peggy Rose Perrone of White Hall.

A memorial service with military honors will be 10 a.m., Saturday, August 12, 2017 in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson and Son with Reverend Barbara Douglas officiating. Burial will be private. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Robinson’s.

Charles Dorn

Mr. Charles Edwin Dorn, 68 of Pine Bluff passed Thursday, August 3, 2017. He was born to the late John Wesley Dorn and Mary Webster Dorn.

He leaves to cherish his memories to his: Wife, Maurice Whitaker Dorn , Two Sons, Kenneth Dorn and Mario Dorn all of Pine Bluff; Three Daughters, Tanesha Wooler of Canton, Miss., Camille Shipp of Boston. Mass. and Yashica Dorn of Pine Bluff, Ark.; Two Sisters, Brenda Dorn of Little Rock, Ark. and Debra Dorn of Pine Bluff; 12 Grandchildren; One Great-Grandchild.

Funeral Services will be 11 a.m., Thursday, August 10, 2017, at New St. Hurricane Missionary Baptist Church, by Rev. Derick Easter. Interment will be in St. Hurricane Cemetery by Brown Funeral Home of Pine Bluff.

Visitation will be Wednesday, 5 - 7 p.m., at Brown Funeral Home.

His body will lie in-state Thursday, 10:15 a.m. until service.

Bettye Howsen

Bettye Hood Howsen age 72, passed away Monday, August 7, 2017.

Born March 17, 1945 at Pine Bluff, she was a daughter of the late Wendell Hood and Jessie Neal Hood. Bettye graduated from Pine Bluff High School in 1963 and attended Arkansas State University.

Mrs. Howsen taught music in her home, giving lessons on piano, guitar, and woodwind instruments.

A member of First Christian Church, she sang in the choir for many years. She was also an active member of the Pine Bluff Musical Coterie and had worked with the Pine Bluff Jaycess and served as an officer in the Jaycettes.

She married Joe Tom Howsen on April 4, 1970, and he predeceased her in 1997. Also preceding her in death is a daughter, Nora Amber Howsen in 1994.

Survivors include a daughter, Renee’ Howsen Holland (Gene) of Tillar, Ark.; a brother, Jon Hood; a sister, Peggie Coats; and two grandsons, Joey Holland and Thomas Holland.

A celebration of Bettye’s life with be held Friday, August 11, 2017, 10 a.m. at Fuller Hale-South Chapel with Rev. Lori Fallon and Mr. Bill Brumett officiating. Interment will follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery at Star City.

Visitation will be Thursday from 6 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

HIGHLAND - Mary Sue Crawford, age 77, of Highland, Ark. died Sunday August 6, 2017 in the comfort of her own home. She was born on April 21, 1940 in Pine Bluff, Ark. to Ellis Wood & Mary Lois Wilson Wood. She was a graduate of Pine Bluff High School and a retired daycare provider. She was a member of Ward Street Church of Christ in Hardy, Ark. She was preceded in death by her parents, her twin brother and a granddaughter Amber Ricks.
