McGEHEE — A nursing assistant course will be offered at the University of Arkansas at Monticello College of Technology-McGehee for eight weeks.

The Career Pathways Initiative will offer the course starting Monday, Oct. 16. Classes will meet from noon to 3 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The course is open to any parent receiving assistance from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Transitional Employment Assistance (TEA), Arkids, Medicaid or between the poverty guideline of 100 to 250 percent. Anyone taking the course will earn six hours of college credit.
