The Gould Organizing Project will host a Neighborhood Watch Block Party from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, on Main Street in Gould.

The event will promote community safety and awareness in reducing crime. The session will include music, refreshments as well as McGruff the Crime Dog, who will reinforce the crime prevention message to youth. The block party will also provide experts to discuss effective crime prevention strategies.

“The Gould Citywide Neighborhood Watch Association will partner with community leaders and concerned citizens to sponsor a GOP Neighborhood Watch Block Party as a building block to creating and implementing crime prevention initiatives on how every citizen can engage in crime prevention,” according to a news release.
