The Optimist Club of Pine Bluff will have its annual Tyson Dinner Fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22, at the corner of Hazel Street and West 26th Avenue. Tickets are $7. Dinners may be picked up and group deliveries are available.
The funds for sponsoring community service projects are generated from a couple of fundraisers each year and contributions from the business community, according to a news release.
“The Optimist Club works with youth toward the common goals of education, career development, physical well-being and community service,” according to the release.
Service projects include sponsoring a team for Junior Babe Ruth, collecting Christmas toys for Neighbor to Neighbor, holding a Youth Appreciation Banquet, volunteering with the Special Olympics, and creating the Path of Friends Garden at Jenkins Memorial Center.
